Hydrological and biogeochemical controls on temporal variations of dissolved carbon and solutes in a karst river, South China

چکیده

Abstract Background Understanding the responses of riverine dissolved carbon dynamics and chemical weathering processes to short-term climatic variabilities is important understand Surface-Earth under ongoing climate change. Temporal variations solutes stable isotope inorganic (? 13 C DIC ) were analysed during a hydrological year in Guijiang River, South China. We aimed unravel karst areas changes. Results Significant positive relationships found between rates factors (i.e. temperature discharge) over year. The total flux CO 2 consumption (760.4 × 10 3 mol/km /year) River was much higher than global mean flux, with capacity relative most other rivers. Chemical fluxes this area showed high sensitivity evasion warm–wet seasons lower those cold–dry seasons. Light ? values occurred high-flow conditions, corresponding temperatures IsoSource modelling revealed that biological could account for 53% all (DIC), controlling temporal variabilities. Conclusion This study quantitatively evaluated cycling karstic river systems demonstrated will have sensibility High discharges accelerate transport, relatively large quantities C-depleted being flushed into Meanwhile, also organic mineralisation, producing content soil , whose influx can shift Taken together, should be responsible dynamics.

Sensitivity of chemical weathering and dissolved carbon dynamics to hydrological conditions in a typical karst river

To better understand the mechanisms that hydrological conditions control chemical weathering and carbon dynamics in the large rivers, we investigated hydrochemistry and carbon isotopic compositions of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) based on high-frequency sampling in the Wujiang River draining the carbonate area in southwestern China. Concentrations of major dissolved solute do not strictly f...

Hydrological and biogeochemical controls on watershed dissolved organic matter transport: pulse-shunt concept.

Hydrological precipitation and snowmelt events trigger large "pulse" releases of terrestrial dissolved organic matter (DOM) into drainage networks due to an increase in DOM concentration with discharge. Thus, low-frequency large events, which are predicted to increase with climate change, are responsible for a significant percentage of annual terrestrial DOM input to drainage networks. These sa...

Temporal Variations of Fire Effects on Dissolved Nutrient Concentrations and Runoff amount in Zrebar Lake Watershed

Fire causes destructive effects on soil, water and components of wetland ecosystems. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of fire on runoff amount and nutrient concentration of Zrebar Lake watershed between 2014 and 2017 and the return of burned areas to their natural conditions in the short, medium and long term. The results showed that in the fourth year after the fire, the am...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

on translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach

abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...
